  1. Call to order

Chris Cochran, KBØWZC called to order the regular meeting of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club at 18:15 on October 31, 2009 in Nixa Fire Station.

Jeff Kerr, KCØVGC conducted a roll call. The following persons were present:

  1. Approval of minutes from last meeting

Jeff Kerr, KCØVGC filed the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as posted on the club website.

  1. News and Announcement
  1. Chris Cochran KB0WZC made the following announcements
    1. Thanks to everyone that helped out with the Tour de Bass. The orgainaizers of the event were very pleased with the outcome and have said they will not run another race without the assistance of Amateur Radio.
    2. James Adkins, KBØNHX constructed a rack mount fan control module to be used on the fans mounted on the TX radios for the 220 and 440 repeaters
    3. James Adkins, KBØNHX and Thadd Huff are continuing to work on the 1500w 6m amplifier for use on the six meter repeater. They may being testing it the coming weeks.
    4. James Adkins, KBØNHX and Jeff Kerr, KCØVGC participated in a conference call with Springfield City Utilities and Greene County OEM to discuss the possibility of moving the local receiver for the six meter repeater to the East TRS tower site. The proposal was well received.
    5. We now have power supplies for the Milo (northwest) and Granby (southwest) six meter receive sites.
    6. Art Trampler, KØRO was present at the club HF station during an area ARES exercise to see how the station performed with local traffic on 80m. Art was able to copy all of the participating stations but was unable to transmit due to limitations on the inboard tuner in the FT-950. This is a small limitation that can be overcome by adjusting the antenna or acquiring an outboard tuner.:

  2. Chris Cochran, KBØWZC played the Field Day video from this year's Field Day
  3. John Bonnot, WBØLTE made proposed the the club pursue getting stickers and patches made with the Nixa Hams logo on them. John also agreed to do the legwork on getting the items produced.
  4. Jeff Kerr, KCØVGC opened the floor for nominations were taken for the office of Club President. Election to be held at the November meeting.
