Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Kent Doucey N0IRM, called the regular meeting of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club to order at 1800 hours on February 12th, 2011 at the Nixa fire station on South Nicholas road in Nixa Missouri.

News and Announcements
Kent Doucey, N0IRM made the following announcements:
The Club events on the calendar for this year are as follows:

March 12 - Club Meeting featuring a presentation on MotoTRBO

April 9 - Club Meeting featuring a presentation on station grounding

May 14 - Club meeting will focus on Field Day planning

June 4 - Nixa Bike Ride

June 11 - Club meeting focusing on Field Day and will feature a logging demo

June 25 Field Day

September 10 - Annual club picnic (location to be determined)

October 15 - Tour de Bass

November 12 - Thanksgiving get-together at Nixa Pizza Hut


July, August, and October meeting dates are open for meeting ideas.


March 3rd is the Nixa Community Foundation Banquet. If any club member would like to attend, payment is needed by the end of today’s meeting. The cost is $15.

Terry Zembsch, KC0SQE made the following announcement:
The Club has been asked to help the local Nixa Scout Troup attain their radio merit badge by holding a class on amateur radio. This is an excellent opportunity to present amateur radio to a group of young individuals. Any and all assistance is welcome and appreciated. Technical Committee Update
Kent Doucey, N0IRM gave the following updates on the club’s projects:

The club is still raising funds to complete the installation of the primary receiver for the six meter repeater at the East TRS tower site. At this time we are a little over half way there.

The Club donated five sections of Rohn 25 to TA Highspeed Internet Service in a show of goodwill and appreciation for the Internet service we receive from them at the Cox South, Nixa, and Republic repeater sites.

VE Testing Update
At today’s VE session there were three testers. One passed the Extra exam, one passed the General exam, and one passed the Technician exam.
