Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Kent Doucey, N0IRM, called the regular meeting of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club to order at 1800 hours on July 13, 2013 at the Nixa Fire Station Community Room at 711 North Main in Nixa, MIssouri.

Sign in sheet was passed. There were 20 persons present.

Treasure report
The treasurer is on vacation this month. The report will be recorded at next month’s meeting.
VE Testing
There was no VE test session this month
Technical Committee Update
N0IRM gave the following update:
The 442.275 repeater will change frequency to 442.425 to eliminate the intermod between the 442.275 and the 147.225 repeaters. John Rayfield W0PM has offered to reprogram the repeater for us.
The 444.975 Stockton Lake repeater will be a UHF repeater that will bridge the gap between Nevada and Crane to give this link 100% reliability. Total costs to complete this project will be around $570.
News and Announcements
The September meeting is the club picnic. The Nixa City part will be the location again this year. Club will provide drinks. More will be announced prior to the meeting.
The hamfest exploratory committee has been selected to look into the possibility of the club conducting a hamfest or ham convention event. Arlen Evins N6DDD, Jim Adkins KC0IYI, and Larry Grinstead WA0JZK are the committee members.
Tour de Bass is Sunday October 13th. We are needing about 26-30 volunteers for this event. There are 8 rest stops, 4 sweeps, and 6 SAGs. Please see Kent N0IRM or James KB0NHX to sign up.
Presentation
At 18:16 the balanced of the meeting was given to David KD0PLS, Gary N0GW, Bill K0DEW for a presentation on the 2013 ARRL Midwest Convention.
Bill stated that they needed club members to volunteer to help with the VE sessions and to be floor walkers to assist with the Convention. Kent N0IRM stated that we would make that announcement on the weekly net.
