10/16/14 Club Announcements

On November 8 from 8:00am to 2:00pm the Nixa Amateur Radio Club NARC Fest will be held at the Nixa Event Center.  Admission will be $5.00 at the door.  A limited number of vendor tables are available at $4.00 each.  For more information or to reserve a table visit the smlrs.info website

The Nixa Amateur Radio Club would like to thank all of the volunteers that worked Tour de Bass.  This event serves to show Amateur Radio's effectiveness to the community, and is a great service to the riders and and event workers.  

Greene County ARES is again offering HAM radio class for people interested in obtaining the entry level Technician class license. This course will be held on two Saturdays:October 11th and October 18th
.
Classes for both days will begin at 8 AM and end at 2 PM.  they will break for lunch at 11:30 AM.   Lunch will not be provided. V.E. Testing will be held on October 18th at the conclusion of the class.   Cost $14.00.

Class location is South Street Christian Church, 500 South Ave, Springfield, MO. they will be using the Gordon West Technician Class 2014-2018 Element 2 book which can be purchased from Amazon.com or W5YI.org. This class is NOT difficult. There is NO Morse code requirement and all possible questions with their correct answers are in the Technician Class book so that there are no surprises.   The test consists of 35 multiple choice questions and you only have to get 26 correct to pass.
