December 12th we received a grant from the NixaCommunityFoundation to purchase the new pair of Honda generators for the Club’s communications trailer! These units are smaller, lighter weight, quieter, and provide a true sine wave with their inverter technology and most importantly are RF quiet and won’t interfere with our world-wide communications on HF during emergency communications drills and events.
We will immediately be able to buy the generators and with the club’s matching funds be able to buy the external fuel tank to allow for extended run time and we plan on pricing the dual-fuel conversion that would allow them to run off propane as well in an emergency.
