The 146.685 Multi-Mode digital repeater is operational

For those of you who have been waiting for it, the club's new home-brew digital repeater is alive!

The repeater is currently operational on DMR, P25 and Yaesu Fusion modes. Once James has a grasp on it, the repeater will also be capable of D-Star.

The repeater uses a couple of Motorola CDM-750 VHF Commercial radios with one of the Repeater-Builder STM-32DV multi-mode digital voice modems connected to a Raspberry Pi III computer running the Pi-Star program.

The repeater has a 25-Watt output and is located on the tower at Troop D HQ near US 65 & Kearney St in NE Springfield with the antenna at ~ 225' AGL.

For additional information check out the announcement on the Nixahams Groups.io page

If you're on the NixaHams Facebook page, James posted some pictures and a video description of the repeater there.

We will be setting up the club communication trailer for the Lawrence County Sheriff's car show on Saturday, May 5th 2018

This will be a great dry run for field day. The setup for the show begins at 8am so I plan to have the trailer and generators out there by 7:30 to 7:45.  We can set up and run HF, digital, whatever anyone wants to do.

This will be a FANTASTIC way to pull in more hams to the hobby as well as show off our capabilities to a different area than what we normally reach.

Please drop Shawn KE0JGI at nixhams.net an email if you are able to attend.

The address for the car show is  21118 old Route 66 Ash Grove.

From N7WY
Tonight (4/19) the NorCal Contest Club (NCCC) is having both a CW and a RTTY sprint lasting a couple of hours each.
The Florida QSO party is this weekend.  There are 2 RTTY contests this weekend, SP DX (Poland) and BARTG (Britain).  Switzerland’s equivalent to the ARRL is holding a multi-mode DX contest (Helvetia).  There is also a 10-10 International contest, but given that the lights are out on 10 meters, I doubt there will be much activity.
For more information, go to contestcalendar.com, open the 8 day calendar, and follow the rules links to the sponsors’ websites.
ARRL Field Day will be on the 4th weekend in June.  Visit ARRL.org for more info.

The RTTY NAQP is in July and the CW and SSB NAQPs are in August.  Visit ncjweb.com for more info.
The CW and SSB ARRL Sweepstakes are in November.  Visit ARRL.org for more info.
