I have two announcements to share.
First – Our December meeting will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 6pm. This month we will NOT meet at the fire station but will meet at the Pizza Hut in Nixa – where it all began. I have the back room reserved for us, we’ll squeeze in
. Pizza/pasta/salad/soda will be on your own. If you don’t want to eat, that’s perfectly fine, come on over anyway. Hope to see everyone there!
Second – Our Vice President, Jim Nicoll, WA0MBE, has resigned, effective November 30, 2019 due to health issues. Jim has been a huge part of the club over the years and especially during the last 2 years that I’ve served as club president. Jim has been instrumental in writing several grants including the Nixa Community foundation grants that we have received the last several years – including THIS year (and we hope he will continue to help out). He has known as being the guy that is always willing to jump in, lend a hand, scrounge supplies, loan tables, lead meetings and of course – can explain the way things work better than anyone. Jim, we thank you for your exceptional service and look forward to seeing you at future meetings and activities.
Nixa ARC bylaws provide a mechanism for filling any vacant office. Except for the office of the president, the term of the vacant office is filled by appointment by the president. I have selected Michael Donnelly, KE0IMB to fill the vacant office. Michael is active in ARES as well as CERT and will be a great addition to our leadership team. Michael’s appointment will be effective immediately. Thank you Michael for your willingness to serve!
